Big News!
Be on the lookout...
Since starting this Substack, I’ve mainly focused on sharing weekly devotionals. While I’ll continue to post those each Saturday morning, I’m thrilled to finally reveal the bigger project God placed on my heart long before this Substack ever existed.
Behind the scenes, I’ve been working on a middle-grade novel, Drawn in the Dark.
The story follows a young boy named Carter, who is struggling with nightmares as his dad is away at military basic training, and his family prepares to move away from their hometown. On top of all that, school hasn’t been easy for him as he wrestles with dyslexia and ADHD. But through new friends and mentors, Carter learns to wield the Armor of God in his dreams, discovering that while the nightmares may not stop, his God is always bigger.
I’m overjoyed to share that Drawn in the Dark is finished. Starting next week, I’ll release one chapter each Tuesday, completely free to read here on Substack. Editing is still underway as I prepare the complete edition for publication. Still, I wanted families to have access now, especially those with children who face nightmares, reading challenges, or need an encouraging story filled with hope and courage.
And there’s more! Alongside the book, I’m developing a devotional study to pair with each chapter. It’s designed to help readers dig deeper into the themes of faith, fear, and resilience woven throughout Carter’s journey.
I can’t wait for you to step into Carter’s world, a place where courage is learned, dreams are faced, and light is always close by. Whether you read it with your kids, your students, or just for yourself, I hope that Drawn in the Dark shines a light into the places fear likes to hide. This story has reminded me over and over that even in the dark, God is working. I pray that as Drawn in the Dark unfolds, you’ll see pieces of His truth reflected in your own story, too.
Stay tuned for Chapter One, releasing next Tuesday!

That's awesome! I can't wait to read it. Congrats!
