“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” — Romans 12:1 (NIV)
When you’re baptized, you begin a life of surrender.
But the truth is—surrender doesn’t end in the water.
Sometimes, we hand our lives over to Jesus… but we keep certain pieces tucked behind our backs.
Not on purpose.
Not out of rebellion.
Just because we don’t realize we’re still holding on.For years, you might carry your gifts like they’re yours to manage.
Your voice. Your work. Your dreams. And then comes a season—
a whisper, a song, a conversation, a word that won’t stop following you:
Surrender.That’s how it starts.
The Holy Spirit doesn’t barge in; He invites you to open your hands.Maybe you’ll hear the word in a Bible study.
Maybe in a song on the radio.
Maybe in the quiet moments when you’re ready to listen. And when you finally kneel and say it out loud—
“God, I surrender my writing.”
“God, I surrender my career.”
“God, I surrender my voice.”
“God, I surrender my everything…”
—something breaks open. Not because He needed to hear it.
But because you did.You needed to speak it, release it, and let yourself feel what it’s like to finally trust Him with it all.
And the beautiful part?
He doesn’t shame you for holding on.
He just smiles as you learn to let go—again and again and again.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord,
I surrender again. Not just the parts I’ve already handed over, but the ones I didn’t know I was clinging to.
My gifts, my identity, my fears, my timeline—take them.
Not because You need to hear it, but because I do.Let my life be a living sacrifice that brings You glory in every step.
Amen.
